Special Assistant to the President in Strategic Initiatives

The Special Assistant to the President in Strategic Initiatives (SA) serves as a senior advisor to the President and will utilize project management techniques to assist in the design and execution of initiatives linked to the institutional strategic operational plan. The SA will work with the President in delivering information and reports to the Board of Trustees, and to other internal and external constituents of the University. She/he will participate in meetings aimed at developing strategic alliances and collaborations at the local, regional and international level. The SA will have the capacity to elaborate reports on the content of these meetings and to draft MOU’s consolidating the agreements reached. The SA will travel occasionally with the president to assist with meeting preparations and other needs. The SA will provide consultation on marketing, finance and fund development. The SA will represent the President in different settings and will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • MBA or MA in a related field, with at least five years of progressive experience within administrative/executive contexts.
  • Bilingual and bicultural in Spanish and English is essential.
  • Experience with Project management technology and skilled in using Office applications.
  • Exceptional written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed skills and experience working with administrative/executive teams and complex organizational environments.
  • Excellent knowledge and skills with social media and good understanding of communications and marketing principles.
  • Experience writing proposals and grants to private or government agencies
