Provost for San Juan Campus



The Provost serves as the Chief Academic Officer of the San Juan Campus. The primary duty of the Provost is to strive for excellence in academic programs and offerings, intellectual scholarship, student affairs endeavors within the supervision of the Executive Vice-President of Academic & Student Affairs. Reputable academic scholar with grant driven research initiatives. The Provost is expected to provide visionary and transformational academic leadership in strategic initiatives that enhance the University’s role in the community-at-large, in terms of accountability, shared governance, enhancement of diversity and multiculturalism, development of academic policies and curricula.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:    Earned doctoral degree in Health Science related disciplines, Psychology, Education or Social Science from an accredited institution of higher learning. Must have at least five (5) years of academic and administrative experience at the university level with knowledge of strategic planning, curriculum development, and accreditation and licensing compliance requirements.  Strong analytic skills to interpret assessment findings and outcomes to better gauge institutional effectiveness at accomplishing goals, leading to evidence-based decision making at campus level. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work well with others in multicultural scenario. Must have the capacity to handle multiple priorities, and lead and supervise others in the implementation of the goals and objectives of an Institutional Strategic Plan. Basic knowledge of computer operations is required. Bilingual required (Spanish and English).
